Dinner With Michael Bennett Supports The Wing Luke Museum

The Bennett Foundation

The Wing Luke Museum is a Seattle landmark showcasing the rich history, culture and art of Asian Pacific Americans. It’s namesake, Wing Luke, became the first Asian American and person of color on the Seattle City Council in 1962.

Each year, the Wing Luke Museum holds a gala and auction, and at this year’s event, Michael Bennett donated a dinner to be auctioned off in support of The Wing.

The Pupus and Tapas Dinner took place last weekend, and among the attendees was Executive Director Beth Takekawa of The Wing Luke Museum. During her speech, Takekawa thanked Michael for his activism, reminding everyone that the museum’s namesake was not a complacent man. Instead, Wing Luke took on issues like equal housing, urban revival and the preservation of the historic downtown area during his career.

“Like The Wing, Bennett helps to amplify voices in the community,” wrote the Wing Luke Museum on their Facebook page. “We couldn’t be happier to support a great athlete and role model. Thanks to Bennett, our partner The Bennett Foundation, and Chef Steve Lee of SL2 Delectables, LLC for the delicious food and intimate conversation.”
