Snacks For Kids: Homemade Potato Chips

Potato chips are the ultimate snack food, and probably one of the most grease-laden. The good news is you can bake them yourself without using any of the grease you’d find in your average bag of chips–and they are super easy and inexpensive to make! Homemade potato chips make a great snack option for kids and adults alike.

Homemade Potato Chips


  • One very thinly-sliced potato (more if you want a large batch)
  • A microwave-safe plate
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave
  • Seasoning (optional)


First, cover your microwave-safe plate with parchment paper. Carefully lay the potato slices on the parchment, making sure they aren’t touching. Sprinkle the potato slices with salt or a seasoning of your choice app project management. Then, cover the plate with another sheet of parchment paper. Put the plate in the microwave for 5 to 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Voila–potato chips!
