Never Stop Learning!

Never Stop Learning!

The Bennett Foundation

The summer is an excellent time to allow your kids to get some rest from a busy school year, but it doesn’t mean that the learning needs to stop! And with the summer about halfway over, it’s a good time to work on the good habits of learning and engaging. We’ve put together a list of some fun ways to make sure your family continues to learn throughout the year!

1. Read! Try to set aside a couple days a week where your whole family has some quiet time to put the phones down, turn the T.V. off, and read! Don’t have anything to read? See what your library has to offer!

2. Write! This can be quick and simple – try free writes! All you need is a pen, a piece of paper, and a prompt. Encourage members to write whatever comes to mind and share what everyone comes up with!

3. Explore! On a hot summer day, it’s easy to want to hide out inside, but going out to explore is a great opportunity to engage the curiosity of you family and to stay active! Check out parks, trails, and any events that are happening around you.

4. Birds! Bird feeders are a really exciting way to learn about animals and aren’t too expensive. With a bird feeder and some seeds, you’ll be able to watch to watch all sorts of local birds, just make sure to have your camera ready!
